Safety, Trust & Family Choice
At ArtSit, safety and trust come first. We know inviting someone into your home to care for your child is a big decision. ArtSit is designed around transparency, family choice, clear expectations, and thoughtful coordination.
Our Safety Approach
Understanding Caregiver Safety Information
ArtSit encourages families to understand caregiver safety information before confirming any in-home childcare arrangement.
What is TrustLine?
In California, TrustLine is the state registry for license-exempt, in-home childcare providers who have completed fingerprint-based background screening. Providers listed with TrustLine have submitted fingerprints for review through California Department of Justice records, FBI criminal history records, and California's Child Abuse Central Index.
ArtSit's Approach
ArtSit may ask ArtSitters to complete or maintain TrustLine registration as part of the ArtSitter profile and screening process. ArtSit verifies a provider's TrustLine status on behalf of families before the first session.
TrustLine & Background Checks
ArtSit encourages eligible ArtSitters to complete California TrustLine registration as part of building trust with families. TrustLine is California's official background check registry for in-home child care providers, including nannies and babysitters. TrustLine status may be listed on an ArtSitter profile when available and verified.
A TrustLine clearance is one important safety tool, but it is not a guarantee of future conduct. ArtSit verifies and lists TrustLine status on provider profiles. Families are encouraged to review ArtSitter profiles, ask questions, and speak with preferred ArtSitters before confirming care.
Family Responsibility
Families review verified ArtSitter profiles, communicate with preferred providers, ask questions, and make the final decision about who provides care for their child. ArtSit handles verification and provides verified provider information, clear policies, profile details, and coordination support to help families make informed choices.
ArtSitter Responsibility
ArtSitters are expected to provide attentive, respectful, age-appropriate care during each session. ArtSitters must follow family instructions, maintain professional boundaries, communicate clearly, prioritize child safety, and provide accurate information about experience, certifications, and TrustLine status when applicable.
Important Safety Boundaries
Insurance & Liability
ArtSit is working to build a responsible platform with clear policies, safety expectations, and appropriate business protections. Because ArtSitters are independent providers, families and ArtSitters should understand that personal insurance, renters/homeowners coverage, professional liability coverage, and other protections may vary by provider and household.
Families and ArtSitters are encouraged to ask questions and understand their own coverage responsibilities before confirming a session.
ArtSit's policies and forms are not a replacement for independent legal, insurance, tax, or licensing advice.
